Film3 is a regional film fund located in Lillehammer, Norway. We provide funding for film and television productions in the two counties Hedmark and Oppland, in the eastern parts of Norway. The fund is owned by the two counties and three local municipalities: Lillehammer, Øyer and Gausdal. Our finances are provided by our owners and by the Norwegian Ministry of Culture Affairs. The name Film3 relates to the threefold focus of the company: film, funding and facilitation. The immodest objective of Film3 is to develop the most dynamic production environment within the Norwegian Film and Television Industry.
Film3 has participated in developing and producing a number of productions for film and television, including the hit Netflix series Lilyhammer, the Oscar-nominated feature film Kon-Tiki, the popular Twigson film series for children, and the Emmy Kids Award Winner Energy Survival.
We work in close cooperation with Østnorsk filmsenter (Eastern Norway Film Center), which is responsible for funding short and documentary films in the same region. The region has a rapidly growing film industry, covering all parts of the production process. Also, the Norwegian National Film School is located in Lillehammer. Special focus areas in our region are films and TV-drama for a young audience, animation and documentaries.
Filming in our region?
Film3 offers facilitation for foreign productions coming to our region and can act as a co-producer in features and television series.
